TEMPLE, Texas – McLane Co. kicked off its 2018 National Trade Show in Orlando, Florida, this week, with a focus on hot topics affecting the grocery and foodservice categories. In addition to enjoying guest appearances by Joe Theismann, former Washington Redskins quarterback, and Randy White, former Dallas Cowboy, attendees heard presentations from McLane executives on topics ranging from technology and vending to marketing and consumer value products.

The major supply chain hosted “McLane Kitchen,” an interactive foodservice booth showcasing foodservice solutions for generating optimum sales and profits. The booth featured a fully functioning kitchen staffed with multiple chefs, plus new menu offerings for retailers to experience.

The technology booth displayed new advancements in McLane’s powerful, but simple technology offerings, including the Mobile Virtual Trade Show (VTS), which allows operators to place orders using any Apple or Android smart device. With a convenient scrolling feature, detailed product listings, easy-to-order summaries and new items added weekly, Mobile VTS is an easy-to-use, money-saving ordering solution.

McLane officials believe franchisees and independents with limited or no IT resources, or those who don’t have or want to use a computer, will appreciate the Mobile VTS.

In addition, McLane announced the debut of Fly Guys Pizza, a new brand available through its private label subsidiary, Consumer Value Products.  Made with premium toppings on a self-rising crust, Fly Guys Pizza arrives frozen and fully packaged for retailers to sell frozen, hot and whole or by the slice.

Other new brands introduced at the trade show include the Beau Dacious line of pet products featuring leashes and bowls, and YumBees’ assorted fruit snacks and dinosaur fruit snacks.
