NEW YORK – Rachel Krupa, who launched The Goods Mart in Silver Lake, California, earlier this year, has brought her luxury snack store to New York City. The Goods Mart opened its second location last week, Food & Wine reports.
The Big Apple store offers many top-selling products from the Los Angeles store, including kombucha slushies, $1.25 La Columbe drip coffee and breakfast burritos, plus Alidoro’s Mona Lisa sandwich (with fresh mozzarella, artichokes, caponata and Bel Paese cheese) and Goods Mart sandwich (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and sauces). The new store also stocks some local favorites, such as Loosie’s Kitchen’s quinoa salad, plant-based foods from Spoon and Sprout and West-bourne’s puddings.
As with its California location, the New York Goods Mart offers about 200 healthy products, such as roasted pumpkin seeds, kettle chips, bottled teas and cashew yogurt. The store also will sell “cosmetically challenged” produce from Local Roots and Norwich Meadow Farms.
Krupa continues her practice of giving back to the community. The New York store will donate usable but expired or blemished fruit and vegetables to the Bowery Mission men’s shelter. For more on The Goods Mart, read “For the Love of Convenience” in the October issue of NACS Magazine.
