It's All About the "NACS-ess," Baby!

Over the past 12 months, the NACS Supplier Membership Committee surveyed our supplier members to find out what was important to them. To the 206 supplier members who responded, we want you to know: We heard you, we learned from you and NACS is taking action to increase the value of your membership.

Overall, more than 75 percent of supplier members stated they were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the supplier benefits NACS delivers. And why do supplier members join NACS? In short: Supplier members want access to retailers, or "NACS-ess." They have a strong desire to gain access to decision makers and influencers in retailer companies. They want one-on-one opportunities to engage with retail leaders to share how they can help them save time, make money and reduce costs.

And what are the top five things suppliers look for in their NACS membership?

  • 86 percent desire to gain access to decision makers and influencers in retailer companies.
  • 75 percent are looking for broader exposure at the NACS Show and other NACS events.
  • 64 percent want to obtain new business leads.
  • 54 percent want to support and learn from the industry.
  • 53 percent want access to industry information and benchmarking data.
  • In addition, 83 percent of the suppliers read NACS Magazine to discover what issues are important to retailers.

So what’s next for NACS supplier membership? Here are a few things NACS is doing to increase the value of your membership in the coming year:

  • "NACS-ess" to retailers all year long through events such as the State of the Industry Summit, Leadership and Global Forums, NACStech, Industry Update Luncheons and the NACS Show.
  • A complimentary PDF of the NACS Membership Directory —available online this summer. This is a great tool to identify new leads, make calls or send mailers. At NACS Online, members will be able to print the full Membership Directory and download the NACS member logo.
  • A mobile app for NACStech and NACS Show attendees, which includes an interactive expo map with routing to booths, bookmarking capability for key events and exhibits, event information, speaker info, event photos/videos and more. The mobile app enables suppliers to promote new products, offer deals to attendees and drive traffic to their booths. Download at the iTunes app store or from your smartphone at
  • Greater access to benchmarking data and updates on industry research, category trends and other operational and financial metrics.
  • Discounts on exhibiting at or attending NACS events and workshops. Supplier members save 25% on booth space for the NACS Show.

And, although the NACS Show in Atlanta is coming up this fall, it’s important to remember that NACS is an organization with a community of retailers and suppliers that work together 365 days a year. Suppliers should get involved all year long. We also encourage retailers to connect with —and listen to —their suppliers.

When you create opportunities for suppliers to support you, you help make the NACS community stronger and more successful. In other words, the more "NACSess" we get, the more success we all enjoy!
