NACS In Store

Members of Congress Get an Up-Close Look at Local Businesses in Our Industry
Our elected representatives make the laws that can help or hurt your business. It’s critical that legislators understand our industry and are familiar with your business and the communities you serve to help ensure that their actions impact your business positively.

The NACS In Store program brings convenience and fuel industry retailers, members of Congress and communities together by offering U.S. legislators the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of our industry and local c-store operations. Here’s how:

  • The NACS In Store program gives elected officials a perfect opportunity to experience how convenience stores serve the public in their home districts.
  • During the NACS In Store events, a member of Congress works behind the counter and interacts with members of the local community and has conversations with community members about issues important to them.
  • Through direct interactions with store management and associates, along with customers, legislators gain an understanding and appreciation for not only the store operation in which they are working, but also for the broader convenience and fuel retailing industry as well.

As part of NACS In Store, elected leaders across the country join 2.2 million other people who work in the convenience store industry and serve an estimated 160 million Americans every day. When they return to Congress, members are better informed and better equipped to make decisions about legislation and resulting regulations that can affect our industry. Watch our video to see how the NACS In Store program benefits industry retailers, the communities in which they operate and our nation’s legislators.
