TORONTO – The Ontario Convenience Store Association (OCSA) has voiced its support for Bill 7, the Better Business Climate Act, which was passed by the Ontario government earlier this week. The bill will require the provincial government to issue an Annual Report detailing the actions they have taken to lower regulatory burdens.

"Ontario's convenience store businesses are pleased to see the government's commitment to carefully monitoring the regulatory burden on small business," said Dave Bryans, OCSA president and CEO, in a statement. "Unnecessary red tape and regulation is a problem for many small businesses and Bill 7's focus to lower regulatory burdens will make it easier for small business members to grow and succeed."

In his statement, Bryans emphasized that OCSA members are responsible community retailers, entrusted to sell more age-restricted products than any other retailer, continually training employees and testing for compliance to ensure that products are sold with the utmost care and responsibility.
