LONDON – Tesco set out last week to rescue thousands of bleary-eyed commuters from what was expected to be the busiest night for office Christmas parties across the United Kingdom.

With millions of people set to enjoy Christmas parties on Thursday, December 10, Tesco hosted its pop-up Hangover Help station in three of its London stores.

The pop-ups, located at Canary Wharf, Bishopsgate and Monument Metro stores opened at 6:30 am on December 11, providing customers with feel-good smoothies and life-saver juices.   Commuters also received recipe cards for breakfast dishes.

Rachel Jones, London convenience director, said last week prior to the opening of the Hangover Help pop-ups: “We know many of our customers will have entered into the festive spirit, so we’ll be helping them get through the morning with delicious smoothies that give you a lift and leave you feeling fresh. We’ll also be serving Virgin Bloody Marys which should help our customers feel fresh and rehydrated.”

Smoothies included The Kickstarter, made with melon, pineapple and fresh ginger. Hangover breakfasts included The Comforter sandwich and The Peanut Better, featuring peanut butter and banana quesadillas for an energy boost.
