SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Beginning today, Corner Store will begin featuring special limited time food offerings for the holidays, includin  an all-new version of the classic whoopee pie, with peppermint whoopie bites and red velvet whoopie pie with cream cheese icing. With peppermint a perennial holiday season favorite, Corner Store is also introducing peppermint mocha cappuccino, available in signature holiday mugs. 

The convenience chain has also noted the growing popularity of ethnic foods, and is introducing a new hot kolache with maple-flavored premium pork breakfast sausage to its breakfast menu and Picadillo Norteño puff pies with seasoned ground beef, carrots and potatoes stuffed inside buttery, flaky pie dough for the afternoon daypart. 

“Nothing says ‘holidays’ like crunchy, sweet peppermint, and we wanted to showcase flavors in our winter menu that would help our customers get in the spirit of the season,” said Richard Poye, Corner Store’s director of foodservice.

The new treats are part of Corner Store’s signature line of Fresh Choices foods baked or prepared fresh in the store’s kitchen. Other items include sausage kolaches made with sweet bread, cookies, donuts and breakfast tacos on homemade tortillas.
