CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Stripes Convenience Stores has joined forces with Coca-Cola to produce two limited-edition cups commemorating the Mexican holiday “Día de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead), which takes place on November 2. The cups, which will cost $2.99 and include the first beverage fill-up in that price, will be in stores in the three states where Stripes operates more than 700 convenience stores: Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Artists from Texas, who were commissioned by Stripes and Coca-Cola, designed the cups. Elisa Rector, who specializes in Día de los Muertos art, created a “Día de los Muertos” couple for a turquoise cup. Christian Lain, a professional tattoo artist, designed a traditional calavera for a charcoal tumbler. Both Rector and Lain incorporated the Stripes Stores and Coca-Cola logos into their designs.

Customers can enter to win one of the Día de Los Muertos commemorative cups by submitting their photos of Día de los Muertos face painting through comments on the Stripes Facebook page (www.facebook.com/stripesstores) starting on October 30. Winners, who will be chosen randomly, will be announced on November 2.
