IRVINE, Calif. – Taco Bell has launched a new website that allows customers to personalize their orders, as well as pay online.

Customers can use the site to search for the type of food they’re looking for, and then explore creative ways to customize their order, such as by changing taco shell or meat choices, adding toppings or substituting one kind of sauce for another. If they’re unsure what to choose, the site will give them recommendations.

“As far as we’re concerned, our menu is just a template,” notes the new website. “Who’s to say that something isn’t better with more of your favorite sauce or vegetarian? On Ta.co, you can turn almost anything on our menu into whatever you can dream up. Hey, it’s your mouth; do what you want with it.”

The mobile-friendly site allows customers to save their favorite combinations, and they can pick up their order at the nearest Taco Bell location without waiting in line via the new online payment option.

In some U.S. markets (such as Los Angeles and Chicago), Taco Bell offers a delivery service with its partner DoorDash. While the new site’s debut isn’t connected to any current delivery service expansion, Taco Bell does plan to eventually expand delivery beyond the approximately 200 markets in which it now offers the service.

Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol said in a statement: “Innovation has always been a part of Taco Bell’s core, and ta.co is our latest promise to make the brand accessible whenever, wherever and however consumers want it.”
