DUBLIN, Ireland – European Supermarket Magazine reports that French grocer Franprix has launched a new convenience store concept, Franprix Noé, that has a focus on gourmet, organic and local produce.

According the new source, the retailer describes the store as a place for urban customers who want to shop in a responsible manner, and has already opened two outlets in Paris.

"Our job is to provide the public with an offering that allows them to be sure of the origin of the products they buy, and move towards more responsible consumption," said Jean-Paul Mochet, managing director of Franprix.

Franprix Noé features a range of fresh organic juices and coffee to-go or to be enjoyed in the store’s seating area. The store offers cheese and meat counters, and freshly-baked breads, pastries and pies. The store also sells many products in bulk to reduce packaging, such as wine, cereals, lentils, quinoa, flour, rice and spices. Household products, such as laundry detergent and dishwasher liquid, are also sold in bulk in reusable containers, allowing customers to buy the exact quantity of product that they need, notes the news source.

"We call this a true oasis in the world of distribution," Mochet told the magazine.
