WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Curbside Pickup will soon be available at more than 4,100 U.S. stores, up from its current 361 locations, Business Insider reports. The drugstore chain has touted the service as more convenient than delivery.

Customers place an order via the CVS App, which will be ready in around an hour for pickup at a designated store. Millennial parents are already fans of the free service, according to Brian Tilzer, chief digital officer. CVS has been testing the service for six months, with the results being an increase in the number of people using it and a healthy number of repeat customers.

“I think it's really a first to have a curbside pickup program deployed nationwide, at this many locations,” said Jason Waldman, CEO of Curbside, which has provided similar services to Sephora and Target. “The CVS team with Curbside technology has been able to move faster than anyone else in retail to grab the opportunity.”

Tilzer pointed out that 75% of the U.S. population lives within five miles of a CVS drugstore, which makes it quicker for consumers to use curbside service immediately, rather than wait a day or two for online delivery. “Most people pass multiple CVS [stores] to and from work,” he said. “We think we have an opportunity to provide the next generation in super convenient experiences for our customer, and also do so for free.”
