LOUISVILLE, KY - McDonald€™s has begun testing a PayPal mobile payment program in 30 of its restaurants in France, Mobile Payments Today reports. As part of the program, customers can pay for their purchases using PayPal€™s digital wallet and mobile app.

PayPal began testing mobile payment with brick-and-mortar merchants last year, first with Home Depot and later with 15 additional merchants earlier this year.

But adding McDonald€™s to its roster offers tremendous expansion opportunities; McDonald€™s has 30,000 restaurants worldwide.

PayPal began demonstrating its payment option earlier this year to McDonald€™s franchisees. The test is limited to France for now, and PayPal has not said when or if it will expand the test to other areas.
