ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Issues that keep retailers up at night are often related to legislation and regulations coming from the federal, state and local levels of government. To protect their business, many retailers also ponder whether to invest in developing a political engagement and grassroots strategy, as well as where to start.

At the upcoming NACS Show in Chicago, you can find out how to get involved and develop a strategy that protects your company and your employees by attending the “Taking It To the Streets” education session on Wednesday, October 18.

NACS is bringing together a panel of experts to help you increase political engagement within your company and develop an effective grassroots strategy, engage store-level employees to educate lawmakers and influence policy-making decisions at home or in Washington, D.C. Panelists will also share how they utilize NACS tools to create a grassroots program within their company.

Former NACS Chairman Steve Loehr, vice president of operations support at La Crosse, Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip, will be joining this dynamic group of experts. “Please attend our session to hear firsthand what tools and resources we have implemented within Kwik Trip to allow our employees to be effective and influential in the legislative process,” encouraged Loehr. “We have seen it work and it can work for you, too.”

Kelly Fink, senior director political engagement at NACS, will offer helpful information on developing a grassroots program within your company and share how NACS can assist you in your efforts.

Finally, Brad Fitch, president & CEO from the Congressional Management Foundation, rounds out the panel to share his organization’s perspective on the importance of making political engagement a priority within your company and strategies to successfully engage with policymakers.

As you are making your plans for the NACS Show, be sure to add “Taking it to the Streets” to your schedule! Registration for the 2017 NACS Show in Chicago is open at www.nacsshow.com.
