WHEELING, W.Va. - Tri-State Petroleum Corporation, a family-owned convenience store operator and wholesale distributor of motor fuels in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, is inviting Wheeling residents to make a splash at a special dunk tank fundraising event to help benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The fundraiser takes place today, August 17, at a store in Wheeling, W.Va.

During the event, customers can donate $1 to toss a softball at a target that will send volunteers ?" including a Tri-State Petroleum executive and several local community members ?" splashing into the dunk tank beneath them.

"From the creation of scholarships, to raising funds for charitable organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, giving to those in need is an important component of Tri-State Petroleum??s mission," said Sam Covelli, director of retail operations for Tri-State Petroleum, in a press release. "I??m excited to announce this fundraiser at our National Road location, and because it is for a worthy cause, I have volunteered to sit above the dunk tank. Here??s to a fun, wet and successful event!"

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
