SAVANNAH, Ga. – Convenience retailer Parker’s is kicking of the inaugural Parker’s Pokemon Go + Keep Savannah Clean Event on Saturday, August 20.

The concept behind this event, which is organized by Parker’s, is to use Pokemon Go for the betterment of the community and to come together to reduce litter on Savannah’s streets. This event is the first in an ongoing series of community-oriented trash pickup events hosted by Parker’s.

While playing Pokemon Go, attendees will break up into groups and pick up trash in Forsyth Park and head north along Whitaker and Abercorn Street, ending up on River Street. The top three participants with the most trash by weight will win Parker’s Cash Cards. Attendees will be provided with trash bags and latex gloves. The free event is open to the public.

"We're proud to partner with the city of Savannah to present this exciting event, which combines technology and community service," said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker's. "At Parker's, we share a commitment to reducing litter and giving back to the community."
