LONDON - Spar is launching a new private label "economy range" in the U.K., following its success in other countries across Europe. The S Budget range will hit SPAR stores shelves on August 29.
"This fantastic range of products has been developed to drive down the cost of local shopping, and encourage customers to do their top-up shopping at Spar. We want to show shoppers that they can find value for money as well as convenience in Spar stores, and make sure our retailers have the products in the range that will drive customer loyalty for the future," said Susan Darbyshire, brand director for Spar??s U.K. arm.
The S Budget line includes a range of everyday essentials on products from baked beans, cheddar cheese and chopped tomatoes to energy drinks, lemonade and juice, plus household basics including bleach, kitchen towels and washing up liquid.
Spar said the range would be continuously monitored to ensure the products remain competitively priced. The S Budget brand was originally established in Spar Austria and now has more than 250 products in the range.
