ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Petroleum and Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced that its Board of Advisors has approved 21 new companies for membership. PCATS is dedicated to open technical standards and technology advocacy for the convenience and petroleum retail industry.

Four companies — MAPCO Express, Abierto Networks, Koupon Media and Linq3 Technologies — have joined at the Gold level of membership, enabling these companies to vote on standards and participate in the management of this nonprofit organization.

“It is the engagement of member companies that make PCATS a critical ally in the success of our industry,” said Drew Mize, chairman of the PCATS Membership and Marketing Committee and COO of The Pinnacle Corporation. “PCATS standards and technical advocacy is at work in virtually every store, 24/7, providing efficient interoperability and efficiency in our industry’s retail IT systems. Companies that engage in PCATS’ work understand how that work results in higher profitability through lowering costs while boosting IT effectiveness.”

PCATS also approved eight companies for Silver level membership: QuickChek Corporation, Ballantyne Brands, OPW Fuel Management Systems, Comdata Corporation, Avalon Informatica y Servicios, Soneco, iControl Systems USA and B2k Systems. This level of membership enables these companies to participate in drafting standards and incorporated PCATS standards in their products and systems.
