COLORADO – Over the past four weeks, Corner Store has raised more than $58,000 for the people whose lives and homes were devastated by the most destructive wildfire in Colorado’s history.

Contributions came from customers at 155 Colorado Corner Stores, Corner Store Team Members (employees) and a matching pledge from CST Brands, Corner Store’s corporate parent company. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Colorado Disaster Relief fund.

“Our hearts go out to the family of Marc and Robin Herklotz and to the hundreds of people who lost their homes in the fire,” said Kim Bowers, CEO of CST Brands. “Helping others is part of how we do business at CST Brands. We strive every day to be positive, contributing members of our Corner Store communities. Our outstanding Team Members and customers make that pretty easy to do.”

The Colorado Black Forest fire, which broke out on June 11, was designated as one of the most destructive wildfires in Colorado’s history. Over 500 homes were destroyed in the 22-square-mile fire near Colorado Springs.
