In-store food courts will disappear from the warehouse stores to make room for Dunkin’.

BOSTON – The Boston Globe reports that Dunkin’ Donuts is replacing in-store food courts at BJ’s Wholesale Club.

The first two of BJ’s Dunkin’ shops will open in Kearney, New Jersey, and Northborough, Mass., within the next few months, Michelle King, a spokeswoman for Dunkin’ Brands, told the news source. “Other locations will likely open prior to the holiday season,” she added.

The Globe writes that BJ’s CEO Christopher Baldwin called the new partnership a natural collaboration of the two Massachusetts-based companies.

The news source continues that Baldwin, a former executive at Proctor & Gamble, Hershey and Nabisco, and Dunkin’ CEO Nigel Travis, a former executive at Blockbuster, Burger King and Papa John’s, became acquainted during Baldwin’s tenure as CEO at Hess Retail Corp. In 2007, Hess formed a partnership with Dunkin' Donuts to rollout the chain’s self-service offerings at Hess convenience and fuel locations. By 2013, Hess had become the largest Dunkin' Donuts franchisee in the United States.
