ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Bring on the data! In order to help managers better understand current compensation practices and enable them to develop competitive compensation packages, the Association for Convenience and Petroleum Retailers (NACS) released the NACS State of the Industry Compensation Survey for 2009 Data on July 7.

The report features compensation data obtained from more than 200 firms, representing more than 20,000 stores. The 45-page report provides annual base salaries and additional compensation for 14 positions (seven executive, four operations and three store-level) by region and firm size.

The report also examines turnover data for district managers, store managers, assistant store managers, and both part-time and full-time employees. Finally, the NACS State of the Industry Compensation Report of 2009 Data includes metrics on benefits, including paid time off, employee health care, 401(k) plans, life insurance and other benefits.

Some of the features include:

  • Executive-level information technology position
  • Quality-of-life benefits and pension plan data
  • Store-level compensation by region (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, the Plains and West) and operating area (combination, metropolitan, rural and suburban).
