NATICK, MA - The National Retail Federation (NRF), responding to a recent Shop.org survey that revealed nearly three-quarters of retailers are exploring mobile strategies, yet 62 percent have yet to implement such a strategy, has unveiled a Mobile Retailing Blueprint, AuctionBytes.com reports.

The blueprint outlines for retailers how to leverage mobile technology to enhance their marketing efforts, with a dedicated section on implementation planning and technology. It also addresses secure mobile payment processes that offer consumers enhanced convenience while lowering processing costs.

Among the issues the blueprint addresses:

  • How mobile retailing can improve business.
  • The technologies and standards applicable in the mobile field.
  • How best to implement a mobile strategy.
  • The capabilities of mobile phones.
  • Mobile payment options.

The 176-page blueprint is available free of charge through the NRF's Mobile Retail Initiative website.
