QUINCY, MA - Online grocer Peapod announced earlier this week that it is expanding its food delivery service into 40 new communities.

The expansion enhances the grocer??s service to New York City boroughs and neighboring New Jersey cities, including Jersey City, Bayonne, and Hoboken. It also adds shore locations, including Eastham, Massachusetts and Long Beach Island, New Jersey, popular vacation home communities.

Peapod service is now available to more than 8 million households in the Northeast, a strategic reach that reflects consumer demand.

"This expansion effort is in direct response to consumer requests," said Peg Merzbacher, director of marketing for Peapod. "We are excited to have the opportunity to serve additional customers."
