SALT LAKE CITY – Midwest and Great Lakes Circle K
convenience store employees and customers recently raised $1,237,500 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals,
a charity that raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals. This
year’s fundraising effort increased 14% over last
year’s total of $1,084,100.
Participating Circle K convenience stores collected
donations by selling Miracle Balloon icons for $1, $3, $5 and $10. The
three-week campaign took place April 5-26 in 1,123 locations.
“Our goal each year is to set a new record; to have the
largest possible positive impact on and contribution to the children’s
hospitals in our communities,” said Mark Novak, director of human resources and
training at Circle K. “Our success is really driven by the tireless effort and
dedication of our store managers and their teams to actively engage and build
relationships with our customers. It’s an intense three weeks with a single and
simple goal: raise more than we ever have before. So far, it’s worked each
year, and we’re proud of that.”
Circle K has raised more than $7 million for children’s
hospital since 2000.
