YORK, PA ?- Rutter??s Farm Stores announced last week the first winner in a promotion that will give away eight years of free gas.

Gregory Ball of Dover, Pa., is the first winner in Rutter??s Fuel Up Free Sweepstakes, and he won a year??s worth of fuel at Rutter??s. Customers who scan their registered Rutter??s Rewards card while purchasing an in-store featured item become entered in the sweepstakes.

The sweepstakes began May 28 and runs through September 2, 2012. Eight winners will win free gas for a year.

Also last week, Rutter??s awarded eight Rutter??s customers with a free month of gas each. The lucky recipients earned entry into the retailer??s monthly Register, Scan and Win price drawing when they scanned their registered Rutter??s Rewards card during checkout.

Rutter??s awarded additional prizes, including coupons for in-store purchases, discounted car washes, and a 46" flat screen TV.

In non-sweepstakes news, Rutter??s celebrated the opening of its 57th store last week, marking the occasion by donating $1,000 to four local charities.

The Loganville Fire Co., the Goodwill Fire Co., Jacobus Lions Ambulance Club and the Jacobus, Loganville and Springfield (JLS) Recreation Association each received $1000 from Rutter??s to continue their community efforts.
