PHILADELPHIA – A California bottling firm announced a voluntary recall of multiple bottled water brands after one of its sources was suspected of being contaminated with E. coli.

Niagara Bottling, based in Ontario, California, voluntarily recalled bottles of water produced at its Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities from June 10-18, 2015, “out of an abundance of caution.” As of September 7, 2015, Niagara had not found E. coli contamination of any kind in its finished products or in the spring water delivered to its bottling facility. "We are pleased to report that all samples received from consumers have tested absent for E.coli," said the company.

The recalled water was sold under the brand names of 7-11, Acadia, Acme, Best Yet, Big Y, Morning Fresh, Nature's Place, Niagara Pricerite, Shaws, Shoprite, Superchill, Wegmans and Western Beef Blue. 

According to news reports, the contamination was found at a water provider, Far Away Springs, based in Auburn, Pennsylvania, but no contamination was found in the water obtained from Far Away Springs or in Niagara's own finished products.
