BK Unveils Healthier Chicken Sandwich

Burger King restaurants nationwide introduce grilled chicken sandwich on whole grain ciabatta.

MIAMI, FL - Burger King announced earlier this week the launch of its new, lower-calorie, lower-sodium Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich.

The "premium" sandwich trims calories with its new whole grain bun, which provides fewer calories, fat, and sodium. It debuted at U.S. restaurants earlier this week at a suggested retail price of $3.99.

"Product innovation is at the core of our brand and we are focused not only on introducing new products, but consistently evolving and improving our current menu offerings, including proven guest favorites like the Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich," said John Schaufelberger, BK??s senior vice president of global product marketing and innovation. "By adding a new premium ciabatta bun made with whole grains to this popular sandwich, I??m confident that our guests will appreciate that this product is a great addition to a nutritionally-balanced lifestyle, without compromising on taste."

The Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich contains 470 calories and is one of Burger King's 350 meal combinations that provide 650 calories or less. The meals are included in the BK Positive Steps program and are featured on tray liners, in-store signage, and window decals.
