FDA Publishes Draft Guidance on Tobacco Sales to Minors

Draft guidance intended to assist tobacco resellers in understanding the final Regulations Restricting the Sale and Distribution of Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco to Protect Children and Adolescents.

WASHINGTON - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published draft guidance regarding compliance with Regulations Restricting the Sale and Distribution of Cigarettes and Smokeless Tobacco To Protect Children and Adolescents.

The document addresses tobacco access and advertising, the products subject to the regulation, and those to whom the regulation applies. It does not establish binding regulations and explicitly allows "an alternative approach if the approach satisfies the requirements of the applicable statues and regulations.
