SALT LAKE CITY - Midwest and Great Lakes Circle K convenience store employees and customers showed their dedication to their community??s kids by raising a total of $1,084,100 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises funds for 170 children??s hospitals.

Participating Circle K convenience stores gathered these donations by selling Miracle Balloon icons for $1, or larger balloons for a $3, $5 or $10 donation. The three-week campaign took place April 6 through 28 at 1,000 locations, and will benefit 28 children??s hospitals. A Children??s Miracle Network Hospitals partner since 2000, Circle K has raised more than $4 million for children??s hospitals. In 2011, Circle K??s Miracle Balloon campaign raised $1 million for the charity.

"Last year, when our stores and customers responded by raising more than a million dollars, a benchmark was set with the hope that future campaigns would be equally successful," said Mark Novak, director of human resources and training for the Circle K Midwest and Great Lakes divisions, in a press release. "As we tracked daily progress, we were cautiously optimistic that there would be a repeat of a $1 million-plus campaign. Since dollars raised are directly routed to 28 children??s hospitals across our network, it creates an instant connection in each of the communities we operate ?" it??s pretty special."

Like all Children??s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraisers, the funds raised from Circle K??s three-week campaign will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children treated at Children??s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.
