NASHVILLE - NACStech ended last week with a big bang ?" as in news that NACS and PCATS are coming together next year for The Tech Event.

The Tech Event will take place May 2013, and feature more focused educational sessions, networking time and a different format for suppliers to showcase their products and services, explained NACS President and CEO Hank Armour.

"Next year, the power of NACStech will double as we merge our industry??s two biggest tech events into one," said Armour. "There is only one name that can really describe it: The Tech Event."

With hot issues such as data security, mobile innovations and payment standards affecting the industry to an ever increasing extent, noted Armour, NACS and PCATS are combining forces next year to leverage both organizations for the benefit of the industry. "The Tech Event, is another step in our seamless integration of PCATS under NACS," he said.

Armour communicated to attendees that they don??t have to be members of both NACS and PCATS to obtain technology and standards leadership that the associations provide. "But you sure as hell ought to be."
