ALEXANDRIA, VA – Coming off a successful 2012 visit to Sao
Paulo, Brazil, the NACS Global Forum is now making its way to Europe next month
in the dynamic marketplace of Madrid, Spain.
The upcoming program is taking place June 25 to 28, and
features expert-led presentations, panel discussions and local store tours
designed to give retailer attendees a global perspective on the industry.
Speakers this year include: José Manuel Campa, the former secretary of state
for the economy in the Ministry of Economy and Finances of Spain; Angel Villasante
Gonzalez, director of marketing, advertising and branding at Repsol; and
Travis Sheetz, executive vice president operations at Sheetz Inc., among many
others.
Local store tours, a signature feature of the NACS Global
Forum, will again be a memorable highlight for attendees. The tours will give
retailers a look at innovative retail formats across Madrid, including visits
to a multi-level Repsol store featuring solar power and electric car
charging points, a visit to the world’s second largest supermarket retail
convenience format, Carrefour Express, and a tour of VIPS, a unique store
concept combining restaurant and retail convenience. Store tours will also
include visits to Supercor Express, CEPSA, Repsol OpenCor, GALP and El Cortes
Ingles/HiperCor.
In line with the distinctiveness of the NACS Global Forum,
attendees will be treated to an exclusive closing reception at Santiago
Bernabéu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid Football Club.
The NACS Global Forum offers insights and connections with
global leaders that can change the way retailers do business in their local
markets. Frank Gleeson, Retail Director at Topaz Energy Group in Ireland, puts
it this way: “I attend a lot of international conferences each year, but I
would rate NACS Global Forum as the most informative, worthwhile and enjoyable
by far, it has just the right mix of content, networking and social activities
and I feel it really benefits me and my company; it's the only one I never
miss.”
