FULLERTON, Calif. - The inaugural clean mobility center has opened in Fullerton, Calif., one of more than 200 scheduled for the state, the Los Angeles Times reports. The alternative fuel station stocks biodiesel, E85 and regular gasoline.

Grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission provided partial funding for Propel Clean Mobility Center. "People are looking for alternatives. They're looking for transportation options that aren't dependent on petroleum," said Matt Horton, chief executive of Propel Fuels.

The station provides recycling receptacles, free air and water, a self-service bike repair area and local area maps. Some Future Clean Mobility Centers include electric-vehicle charging stations and natural gas and hydrogen pumps, depending on their location.

"Fuel choices are going to continue to change for many years," said Horton. "The mix of vehicles available and consumer preferences will change over time."

Eight fuel pumps dispense gasoline, four have E85 and are marked with a yellow top plus additional signage, and four green-topped pumps have biodiesel blends. "Consumers can now vote with their wallets and choose a fuel company that better aligns with their values and interests," said Horton. "No matter what type of car they drive, consumers can use our new stations and learn about cleaner mobility options along the way."
