BEIJING -- McDonald??s Corp. has unveiled its plan to push into the Chinese market by adding 700 new locations within two years, MarketWatch reports. By 2013, the company reports it plans to have 2,000 stores, according to Betty Tian, a McDonald??s spokesperson.

To staff those new locations, McDonald??s will bring onboard 50,000 new workers, including a thousand university graduates for training in management. McDonald??s first came to China 20 years ago and has recently begun to expand its presence in that country as the fast-food competition becomes stronger. Other quickservice restaurant chains have announced expansion plans in China, including Yum! Brands Inc, which has nearly 4,000 KFC and Pizza Hut locations.
