Bob Evans Gets Moving With Retail

The restaurant chain's Taste of the Farm retail and carryout concept could be rolling out at additional locations this summer.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Bob Evans Restaurants announced in December 2009 its new Taste of the Farm retail and carryout area for customers at its Westerville, Ohio, location.

Among the features:

  • A catering menu featuring a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options
  • Seven different grab-and-go family"size meals
  • An expanded carryout area
  • A bakery featuring breads, Cinnamon Bites and seasonal muffins
  • A grab-and-go section with entrée options such as Big Farm Salads and farm"fresh wraps, as well as side items such as fresh fruit, cottage cheese, fruit and yogurt parfaits, garden salads and Bob Evans signature coleslaw.

Now that the grab-and-go area is up and running, QSR Magazine is reporting that Bob Evans is planning to expand the retail concept and "will likely announce a broader roll out in mid June."

"We??re evaluating the results and the relevance and we??re going to be deciding in what kind of locations Taste of the Farm would best work," Mary Cusick, senior vice president of marketing, told the news source.
