Family Dollar Expands Food Assortment

The discount retail chain will add more than 400 new food items in U.S. stores.

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Family Dollar will introduce more than 400 new food items in each of its more than 8,000 stores across the country. “It’s important for us to constantly evaluate our assortment, making sure that we have the products and National Brands that are relevant to her and her family, always at a great everyday value,” said Jason Reiser, Family Dollar executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, in a press release. “I am excited to add these new food items to our already robust assortment, and I am confident that our customers will be impressed by the expanded selection we have to offer.”

As part of the new food rollout, television personality, best-selling author and chef Pat Neely will participate in several special events to spread the word about the great values customers can find in-store. “Good, homemade food that’s made from the heart is what I’m all about. I am thrilled to team up with Family Dollar as they add even more quality food choices to their store shelves,” said Neely. “Whether you’re making a quick weeknight meal, a fun lunch for your kids or a side for your family reunion, Family Dollar has everything you need to make your dish delicious, all at everyday low prices.”

Family Dollar also lowered prices on 1,000, every day items like Kraft, Hellman’s and Ragu. These new, low prices can be found in every department throughout the store, from food to home cleaning and laundry care, as well as housewares and apparel.
