A&P to Offer Discounts to Seniors at All Stores

Company will extend a five percent discount to customers over the age of 55 on grocery purchases of at least $30.

MONTVALE, N.J. - Beginning today, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) is launching "Senior Appreciation Mondays," a discount program for senior in all Pathmark stores, 4-traders.com reports.

The program extends a five percent discount to customers over the age of 55 on grocery purchases of at least $30, excluding pharmacy items, milk, tobacco, and alcohol.

The Company also announced the launch of "Senior Appreciation Tuesdays" with the same eligibility requirements at its Superfresh stores in the Baltimore area beginning tomorrow, and at all A&P, Food Emporium, and Superfresh stores beginning April 19.

"Our Senior Appreciation Days are a great benefit for many of our most loyal A&P, Waldbaum's, Pathmark, Food Emporium and Superfresh customers," said John Moritz, senior vice president of marketing at A&P. "We are pleased to offer extra savings on groceries to senior shoppers, on top of the opportunity to enjoy a better shopping experience during the week.
