"We are incredibly pleased with the support we have received from the area??s thriving business community."

According to Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones, economic development efforts have proven fruitful, as evidenced by MACS?? decision to relocate the $1 billion company and consolidate four former headquarters locations to one business support center in the city.

The event highlighted the new state-of-the-art facility and included speeches from Chesterfield Board of Supervisors Chairman Art Warren, Mayor Jones, Jim Summers and Steve Uphoff, the founder of the Uppy??s convenience store chain. Children??s Miracle Network also presented a plaque to MACS in appreciation of the $20,000 raised last year. In a surprise announcement, MACS presented a check for $1,000 to Children??s Miracle Network to reinforce the company??s on-going commitment to continue supporting their cause this year.

The evening??s festivities also honored Linda Uphoff, wife of Steve Uphoff and co-founder of Uppy??s, by dedicating the facility??s new training center in honor of her work. "Steve and I are honored to be a part of this community," Uphoff said, "and are grateful for the recognition that MACS has given to us by dedication of the wonderful new training center."
