MIAMI, FL - Burger King announced earlier this week that it has expanded its BK Breakfast Value Menu, adding a Breakfast Muffin sandwich and a BK Breakfast Bowl to its lineup, to better compete with a crowded roster of breakfast players.

The $1 muffin sandwich features sausage, egg and melted American cheese on an English muffin and takes aim at other restaurants?? muffin sandwiches with an edgy, soon-to-launch ad campaign.

"The BK Breakfast Muffin sandwich provides more value for the money to our guests," said John Schaufelberger, senior vice president, global product marketing and innovation, Burger King Corporation. "We took a breakfast sandwich that has proven likeability among consumers and are delivering it at a great price."

The $2.79 BK Breakfast Bowl includes roasted southwestern potatoes, grilled onions and peppers, scrambled eggs and sausage, smothered with a three-cheese blend and smoky sauce.
