Speakers at Conexxus Annual Conference will provide insights on rapidly changing retail technology landscape.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Conexxus Annual Conference, taking place April 26–30 in Annapolis, Maryland, is a unique opportunity to focus on new technologies and technology standards to improve business processes, reduce costs and increase productivity in the convenience and fuel retailing industry.

The annual conference is an opportunity for technology professionals to come together to create the solutions that will drive the convenience and fuel industry for years to come. Over four days, attendees will join Conexxus business and technical committees to discuss critical technology issues that are changing the way companies in our industry do business. Marty Ramos, Microsoft Chief Technology Officer, Retail, Consumer Products & Services
Marty is no stranger to the retail environment. He is currently responsible for worldwide strategy and innovation for Microsoft’s retail, hospitality and consumer goods sectors. He started at Microsoft in 2005 as a solutions specialist in the retail industry group, focusing on store-level consulting studies and spending as much as a third of his year in retail stores. In 2009, Marty worked with the Microsoft Stores team in getting the first two stores up and running and is also responsible for technology at the Microsoft Retail Experience Center on the Redmond Campus.

Prior to joining Microsoft, he was the Chief Architect for Retalix US, specializing in POS process optimization, store productivity studies and RFID.  He also worked at IBM for 20 years, 16 of which were spent on the Walmart account as their store solutions architect.  He was instrumental in the adoption and worldwide rollout of the 4680/4690 OS from the first store in 1986 to over 5,000 stores and was also the architect and development lead for their current POS application.

Anthony Shop, Social Driver Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder
Anthony is a pioneer in the field of digital media and online advocacy. A former journalist and press secretary, he is the first new media professional to be elected to the prestigious National Press Club’s Board of Governors. He founded the Club’s popular “Get It Online” digital media series, which has hosted luminaries from USA Today, NASA and The White House to discuss media trends with national opinion leaders and influencers.

Starting from a deep belief that the future is bright and people come before technology, Anthony co-founded the digital innovation agency Social Driver in 2009 and the company has since been named one of the country’s fastest growing agencies. As Chief Strategy Officer, Anthony has sparked innovative campaigns for a portfolio of clients including Honda, Salesforce and leading nonprofits and associations.
