ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Are eggs good for you? What about butter? How about oil? The latest NACS Convenience Matters podcast looks at how there is too much, and often conflicting, information related to health and eating.

Approximately one-third of Americans are considered obese, and the percentages are increasing. As more consumers look toward diets and other solutions to gain control of their weight, there is another problem, known as “infobesity.” Simply put, there is too much information about nutrition and it’s becoming more difficult to make the right nutrition choices, especially when there is conflicting information.

In “Fight INFObesity with Dietitian Advice,” cohosts Jeff Lenard and Carolyn Schnare of NACS talk to registered dietician and award-winning nutrition expert Ashley Koff.

“Like any food product, too much information is unhealthy. We talk about what retailers and consumers can do to find the best food information quickly,” Lenard said.

A new podcast is released every week, focusing on topics related to convenience stores. Since its launch in February 2016, it has been downloaded in more than 60 countries.
