ShopHouse grew to 15 units since launching in 2011.

NEW YORK – Chipotle Mexican Grill is closing all 15 ShopHouse Asian Kitchen locations this week, reports Nation’s Restaurant News.

Chris Arnold, a spokesman for the Denver-based company, told the news source that the company is selling the leases for the ShopHouse locations and plans to close the restaurants on March 17.

Chipotle opened the first ShopHouse in 2011 and grew the fast-casual Asian brand to 15 locations, but wasn’t able to generate enough in sales to warrant future investment, notes the news source. Chipotle operates two other concepts, Pizzeria Locale and the Tasty Made burger concept.

Chipotle is working to recover from sales challenge in 2016, notes the news source, adding that Monty Moran resigned earlier this year as co-CEO, giving the full title to the company’s founder, Steve Ells. The company is also releasing its first ad campaign in April.
