MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Targeted Corp. announced last week it is completing remodels at more than 100 general merchandise Target stories this month, the first of three cycles of remodels for the retailer this year, and all of which will offer a full selection of fresh food.

"Bringing fresh food to Target means our guests only have to make one stop to stock up on all of their essentials," said Annette Miller, senior vice president of grocery, Target. "This year, even more of our guests will experience the added convenience of one-stop shopping as we remodel hundreds of additional Target stores and bring our fresh food layout to markets across the country."

The first wave of remodels are scattered across the country, and each will include roughly 10,000 feet of space dedicated to fresh food, including produce, packaged meat, pre-packaged baked goods, as well as dry and frozen items.

Throughout 2012, 230 Target stores are scheduled to incorporate the fresh food layout, adding to the nearly 900 Target stores that currently offer an expanded food section.
