WASHINGTON – The convenience industry took its message to Capitol Hill yesterday, with 130 retailers, suppliers and other stakeholders conducting meetings with senators and congressmen from all over the country. This full day on the Hill is part of the NACS Government Relations Conference (GRC), and came after training and preparation for attendees by NACS staff on Tuesday.

GRC attendees participated in over 215 meetings, sharing the NACS position on several key issues, including menu labeling and debit swipe reform. Meetings were held throughout the day in all six Senate and House office buildings, and retailers had the exciting experience to meet in person with many members of Congress.

NACS encourages members to get involved with the legislative process. Become a Friend of NACS, host a NACS In Store event and join in on our grassroots efforts. Explore all of the NACS advocacy resources today!
