NEW YORK – First, it’s part of an NCAA March Madness promotion. And second, there’s only 64 pairs. NBC News report that these new sneakers from Pizza Hut bring a different definition to the words functional footwear, by allowing users to order a pizza by just pressing a button on the shoe's tongue.

The high-top shoes, called Pie Tops, were created by Los Angeles-based custom footwear designer the Shoe Surgeon to celebrate the 64 teams that will participate in NCAA March Madness, notes the news source.

The Pie Tops won't be available for sale to the general public, but here’s how they work: To get the delivery, the select users let Pizza Hut know via its website or app what their favorite pie is. Then, when they’re hungry, just push a button on the shoe's tongue. The Bluetooth and geolocation technology sends the order to the nearest Pizza Hut.
