CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire Lottery is joining five other states in launching a new game, "Lucky for Life," that gives players a chance to win $1,000 a day for life, the New Hampshire Business Review reports.

The game is the first multistate lottery game to be played exclusively in all six New England States (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine), "which gives kind of a nice feel to it," said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery.

McIntyre began working on the game last year when colleagues from the Massachusetts State Lottery sought his participation.

"[We??ve been] working on it for so many months now, eight months now, there??ve been times it didn??t look like it was going to happen," McIntyre said. "But it looks like we??re ready to go."

"Lucky for Life" tickets go on sale this Sunday, March 11, with the first drawing held on Thursday, March 15. Tickets will cost $2 and drawings will be held twice a week, on Monday and Thursday nights.

Players select five numbers from 1 through 40, and one Lucky ball from 1 to 21. Matching all six numbers earns the player $1,000 a day for life, which is guaranteed for a minimum 20 years, though the payout will continue throughout the duration of each winner??s lifetime.

Other prizes range from $2 to $25,000.
