NEW YORK – Marketing efforts are underway today for the season two premiere of “Dallas,” complete with a flagship gas station for Ewing Energies, the global energy company on the television series once known as Ewing Oil. MediaPost writes that the station is offer gasoline at a deep discount, while supplies last, to ensure long lines and significant media coverage.

AdWeek reports that the marketing push, led by Grey New York, is disclosing the station’s location this morning on Facebook.

“If you sell petrol in that area, Grey says you should expect the Ewing station to undercut your prices. And it's not just all talk: There's a New York Times ad…radio spots, billboards and branded oil trucks,” writes AdWeek.

This isn’t the first time our industry has been front and center for a movie or television promotion. In 2007, to correlate with the release of “The Simpsons Movie,” 7-Eleven recreated the Kwik-E-Mart and sold Squishees from renamed Slurpee machines. For an entire month, Woo-Hoo! Blue Vanilla Squishees honored the show and its characters.
