NEW YORK – McDonald’s may be retooling its operations strategy, but that isn’t keeping the QSR from testing new menu items. CNBC reports that the chain is testing new flavor seasonings at northern Nevada locations.

McDonald's spokeswoman Terri Hickey told CNBC that the Shakin' Flavors – zesty ranch, chipotle BBQ and garlic parmesan – will also be available in the San Francisco, Sacramento, Chico and Fresno, California, markets.

The seasoning packets are already popular at the QSR’s locations in Asia, notes the news source, which adds that McDonald's is also planning to bring back Chicken Selects, a premium chicken product it discontinued in early 2013, to the United States.

"The Chicken Selects will make a national return in early March and be sold as an order with three pieces," spokeswoman Lisa McComb, told CNBC.
