WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. –  QuickChek raised $460,000 to benefit a variety of local community causes and aid thousands of area families in need in 2014, capping off the company’s fundraising efforts by raising $125,000 to help feed hungry families during the holiday season.

The convenience store chain will partner with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and Long Island Cares on various campaigns throughout 2015.

“Being in the food business, partnering with the community food banks where we have stores was a natural fit when we were looking for new ways to get further involved with our local communities,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. “Our team set a very high goal and surpassed it, which is further testament that our team members embrace being active in our communities and work hard to be the neighborhood shopping destination in those communities.”

QuickChek, which has 140 stores throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island, has raised millions of dollars over the past few years for a variety of causes that benefit children, families and military veterans. These include in excess of $1.5 million for juvenile diabetes research, $125,000 for Hurricane Sandy relief in addition to having more than 40 team members volunteering to physically help rebuild homes along the Jersey shore, and $75,000 for Hope for the Warriors, which aids post-9/11 service members and their families.

With each new store opening, the company donates money to one of the many local charity organizations that helps keep that community going. Thousands of dollars are donated to organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area each year. QuickChek also supports 145 youth sports groups statewide.

The company is also title sponsor of the annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, which raises more than $100,000 each year to benefit local volunteer fire departments, ambulance corps, school groups and the Children’s Miracle Network of specialized children’s hospitals.
