A near-decade of $5 footlongs comes to an end today at Subway locations.

MILFORD, Conn. – Beginning today, nearly a decade of the $5 footlong—and its catchy jingle—has come to an end at Subway locations. The chain will now offer the classic sandwiches for $6.

Subway announced the dollar upgrade on social media and its website. The $5 footlong special at Subway traditionally took place each year during February since 2007, although there have been instances when the special took place at other times and for a lower price, according to Business Insider.

New York Daily News writes that Subway is raising its footlong price because of higher food costs. “We launched the $5 footlong in 2007,” Subway tweeted. “Since then our costs have gone up greatly, but we try to balance that with promotions."

The news source notes that Subway said the price increase would for now be limited to the “classic” sandwich and not salads, other offerings or upgraded subs.
