MINNEAPOLIS - Target announced earlier this week that it is expanding its fresh grocery concept to the Detroit area.

The news comes as Target is remodeling its stores across the country, allocating approximately 10,000 square feet to fresh food, along with dry and frozen offerings.

As part of its Detroit remodel, Target will renovate beauty, home, shoe, and baby departments in an effort to enhance the shopping experience.

"We??ve heard from our guests that they want more fresh food options in the convenience of their local Target store," said Annette Miller, senior vice president of grocery, Target. "We??re excited to unveil a new, one-stop shopping experience and believe this significant investment underscores our commitment to the Detroit community."

The remodels and renovations will be finalized at nine Detroit-area stores beginning March 24, with news of additional store remodels to be available in the spring.
