AUSTIN, Texas – Stripes Convenience Stores has become the number-one Texas Corporate Sponsor for the March of Dimes Foundation. This week, Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes Foundation, recognized the chain for its achievement at an awards luncheon held at the Park City Club in Dallas. March of Dimes officials also said that Stripes Stores are ranked number 11 nationwide as a Corporate Partner.

“We want to congratulate the Stripes Stores team on this amazing accomplishment and working to become the Top Corporate Partner in Texas,” said Darcie Wells, March of Dimes Texas Chapter State Director, in a press release.

Since 2008, Stripes Convenience Stores has raised more than $3.2 million for the March of Dimes, one dollar at a time, through its annual cut-out fundraising campaign held at all Stripes locations in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Stripes Stores have a long-standing tradition of investing in health and education programs that focus on children and youth.

“Their contributions make a strong statement about their partnership with March of Dimes and make a clear demonstration of their proactive approach to addressing one of the most urgent health problems in the US, prematurity,” said Wells. “We are grateful to Stripes and Stripes’ customers, for making a difference, one dollar at a time”

One of the most urgent infant health problems in the U.S. today is premature birth, which affects nearly half a million babies each year. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.
